We got up early with a goal of leaving Camp 1 by 9:00. The Camp was a little livelier than normal as many of the teams were planning either or move or cache to Camp 2 and take advantage of the weather. Most of the teams (including us) moving up were hoping to summit the next day. The Swiss Team were the fist to depart and got on the trail around 9:00. It took us a little longer than normal to get prepared (as usual) and we didn't end up leaving camp until 10:00. We wanted to take our time up to Camp 2 so we didn't wear ourselves out for the summit. Between setting up camp and getting ready for the climb, we knew we'd be quite busy, especialliy if we wanted to get to bed early.
We arrived at Camp 2 around 15:00. The Swiss had already set up their site. We quickly reached our camp and started sorting gear for the summit bid and preparing food. At our site, we had a small walk to the foot of the glacier for running water, however, it was filled with loose dirt and tiny rocks. We had left our filter at basecamp, so we decided to collect what we could in our nalgenes and tried to filter as best we could into the pot for boiling. We decided to melt some snow to fill up our other bladders and food. We were up a little later than planned and didn't get to bed until just before 21:00. All of the teams that moved up with us were planning to summit tomorrow also. Our alarm was set for a 01:00 alpine start to evaluate our condition. My SPO2 took a bit of a dive as I got ready for bed. This was the first night I took some Diamox to help with the acclimitization.
