We slept a little better this past night and spent the morning chillin and sorting gear out for the summit bid. In the afternoon, I decided to take a day-hike up to the col (~18,000 ft) with the three "Rocket Scientists." Jason stayed back to rest and try to get over a bit of a cough he developed from the day before. The wind was still kickin, but not nearly as bad as the last two days. I was gone for about three hours and got back to Camp 1 around 16:00. Jason and I got one last weather report late that afternoon and things were looking good. Winds at the summit for Friday were expected to be around 25-30 km/hr and down to 15 km/hr on Saturday. We were both itching to get to the top and were planning to move to Camp 2 tomorrow and a summit attempt Friday. Again if this didn't work out, we still had Saturday. We were both a little anxious and nervous as we climbed into our sleeping bags for this final night at Camp 1. The Swiss team and the Rocket Scientists were also planning the same schedule as us so our Camp 1 family would proceed up together.
